CANTON, NY The Houghton cross country teams traveled to St. Lawrence University to compete in the Pre-Atlantic Regional Championship Invitational. It featured most of the top teams in the Atlantic Region to preview the course where the NCAA Regional Championship will be held in mid-November. Again, there was beautiful weather for a mid-Fall race and the course was in superb condition. Of the 23 teams represented, the women finished 11th and the men 16th. The women topped all Empire 8 competition, just edging out rival St. John Fisher by 9 points, and handily beat Utica and Alfred U. The men lost to Fisher, tied Utica, and bested Alfred U.
