ROCHESTER, NY The Houghton Men's Cross Country team competed at St. John Fisher on Saturday in the Empire 8 Cross Country Championships, in a field of 8 teams. The race was tight throughout all of the 2k loops, and the top 3 teams were separated by only 7 points. Through the first two 2k loops it was Nazareth and Houghton battling in the lead for the team title. In the last 2k loop, Utica surged and edged both Nazareth and Houghton for the win. Utica runner Mitch Marlow won the individual title, with Houghton's Tyler Deuschle finishing 2nd.
